I know what didn't work was Desolation Row...Bobby just didn't have the chops to sustain it for as many verses as it contains...to be fair Dylan couldn't do it justice to his own 1965 definitive rendition on Highway 61....

I loved Jerry doing Baby Blue, but another success was the version of MAGGIE'S FARM in which all the different band members grabbed a verse.

If you want to hear an amazing 'Desolation Row', check out Dylan's Bootleg Series vol.4 1966. I don't think anyone could find a better version.



My favorite has to be JGB's 'Simple Twist Of Fate' it doesn't get much better than that.
